Currently Marla trains, coaches and consults with senior executive clients, focusing on mindfulness, elevating Emotional Intelligence (EQ), engagement and leadership and team development. She has developed and delivered training programs internationally in mindfulness, emotional intelligence and coaching skills for leaders to name a few.

In 1993 Marla began her formal mind training both in Mindfulness at Spirit Rock and in EQ at The Diamond Approch School in Berkeley.  Her Mindfulness studies at Spirit Rock include 100+ silent retreat days and in 2012, she completed the Dedicated Practitioners Program, a two year intensive retreat and study program.  In her EQ training she attended an 11 year Ridhwan program and continues to work with her teachers.

Her formal meditation practice began in 1993 and Marla has had a daily meditation practice since 2003. In July of 2011, at the encouragement of her teacher Richard Shankman, she started teaching mindfulness to a small international virtual meditation group.  

For over two decades, Marla Skibbins has been training and coaching in both corporate and the non-profit venues.  For the last two decades,  she has been a mindfulness and happiness teacher.  Marla has a MCC (Master Certified Coach) the highest designation through the International Coach Federation; as well as a CPCC (Certified Professional Co-Active Coach) through the Coaches Training Institute.

She is a Senior Faculty Member at Coaches Training Institute (CTI), the world’s largest global leadership and coach training organization.

In her Executive Coaching, she has worked with companies such as: Adobe, Cisco Systems, Face Book, EBay, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, American Express, Wells Fargo, Compaq North America, Computer Sciences Corp, BP Ameco, ICAN and Anderson Partners. 

 

Born and raised in California, Marla moved to The Sea Ranch, California in 2000, where she lives full-time with her beloved husband and coaches and trains internationally.
